Important Reminders

  • Bookings will ONLY BE CONFIRMED on receipt of a 50% non-returnable deposit of the course fee.
  • Payments should be made to West Coast Mountain Guides Ltd.
  • Please use your invoice number as the payment reference.
  • Telephone bookings should be followed a.s.a.p. by a deposit.
  • The balance for bookings is due 6 weeks before the course.
  • It is your responsibility to cover any payment fees incurred.
  • To reduce your fees for international payments, we recommend using a service such as TransferWise.
  • Please see our Privacy Policy for details on how your personal data will be used.
  • Cancellation and Personal Accident Insurance, specific to mountaineering, for all courses is strongly recommended (essential for overseas courses).
    Insurance is available from the
British Mountaineering Council, amongst other providers, and starts from £5/day.
  • If booking a B&B or hotel, please check breakfast times/availability before booking. For winter days, you should aim to be ready by 0730-0800 and for summer days 0800-0830. The specific timings will be confirmed by your guide. Some places will lay on an early continental style breakfast.

What Happens Next?

  1. Please ensure that each member of your party has filled out a booking form.
  2. We will be in touch when your balance is due (if a booking is made more than 6 weeks prior to the start date).
  3. Please ensure you have appropriate clothing and equipment for your activity. Kit lists can be found here.
  4. Please ensure that you have accommodation arranged if required. Some recommendations can be found here. Please double-check breakfast arrangements, as some places won’t serve breakfast until 0800, which is too late. Some places will leave out a continental style breakfast for you.
  5. Your guide/instructor will be in touch with you a few days prior to the start date to discuss plans and meeting arrangements (expect to meet at 0730/0800 each day and to be back by 1700, if you need to be down earlier, that’s no problem, but please let us know in advance). Please note these plans and timings will be weather and conditions dependent. Weather forecasts are only really accurate for the following three to four days, avalanche forecasts are only accurate for the following day.
  6. Please note that we cannot guarantee transport on the day(s) of your course, so if you are planning on arriving by public transport, please let us know at the time of booking.
