Surely the builders get paid for taken out rubbish. Why should I help clean up the place yet don't get to use it. Come on! you charge people to have a week long course in the place, offer some accom and I'm sure you'll get plenty rubbish collector's. You have some cheek.
Thanks, whoever you are. I'm just being public spirited., not cheeky at all. By the way, I do sometimes offer bed spaces on my hut courses if they do not fill up. Check the blog history to see the evidence. Also, the hut custodian has asked me if I know anyone who might be interested in helping out to have a really good go at cleaning up and landscaping when the winter finishes. As you know we had a very early winter and the snow got in the way of a proper clean up.
Alan,
I must say, I think that the SMC should be the ones doing the clean-up; after all, they are the ones who funded the rebuild! Mind you, fair cop to ask anyone who is actually STAYING in the hut to carry some of the stuff out. I'm up there for 2-6 Mar; hoping for a bit of freeze before then.....
Duncan
Thanks Duncan. Nobody is suggesting that SMC are not going to clean up, but surely it's not too much to ask anyone who feels able, to carry some stuff down, rather than sound off and start bleating about a simple request to to help.
I'll offer my services to help landscape, clean up in the spring no problem.
I bleated (Aberdonian)earlier about you posting request. If I was in your position I'd try and fill with clients too so please don't take that comment to heart. I don't think the builders would be to happy to find there bags of cement missing when they return to finish the job. After working on many building sites, I've viewed the pictures and believe me that rubbish is the garden of Eden compared to some sites but when jobs have been completed sites have always been left clean and tidy and don't see why the CIC should be any different. If a work party is required in spring I'd quite happily offer my services if accommodation is supplied(free of charge)
Finally I let you know my email address cause it annoys me people who hide behind pseudonymns. Hope you were not offended cheers Pete
Thanks Pete. I'll let SMC know of your kind offer to help. AK
