Plenty Snow

Thursday, 4 December 2008

Hi Alan are you and Sue not homesick yet? ;-)
Here's a reminder of what you're missing.
Up in Stob Coire nan Lochan today and did Dorsal Arete where I met Jason Wood and we then went onto Boomerang Gully. As you can see from the pics we had a lot of snow falling Thursday and Friday but Saturday was clear and cold.
Turf is still iffy and the ice has a long way to go but it was still a great day and looks like we have at least another week of cold tops - may break down before you're back though. However that's the natural cycle of things and it all helps to consolidate the loose snow pack.

Hope you enjoy the pics.

Ken

Thanks for keeping me up to date Ken. I'm looking forward to a cooler climate and a chance to get out. See you soon and please hang on to some of that snow for me!

Aonach Eagach Ridge.

Dorsal Arete - Stob Coire nan Lochan.

A fine cloak of snow. Looking across the Aonach Eagach towards Ben Nevis. Head north folks.

Yes been a great early winter.
Beinn Udlaidh was in and fragile on Tuesday.
Did South Gully of Black Wall and the mountain had a general snow cover of 2 feet all over. Skis would have been a help! Chris Dickinson.
