Slippery on Tower Ridge

Climbing Tower Ridge yesterday in superb Autumn weather. As we gained height, patches of snow and ice appeared. Early season snow will often make this route 'tricky' and neither summer nor winter. This was certainly the case above 1000metres. Crampons would not have made much difference and an ice axe was certainly not required.Eastern Traverse on Tower Ridge
'Thrutching' a little on the slippery walls of the fallen block pitch. This alleyway fills with snow in a good winter.

Autumn Calm

Another good day on Rannoch Wall. Up Agag's Groove followed by an abseil down Grooved Arete and an ascent of Engineer's Crack. The cloud shifted by mid-afternoon, leaving shafts of sunshine casting over Rannoch Moor. Descent from the final route was again by abseil from fixed gear.
