West Highland Way Race

Thursday, June 7, 2007

Alan,In a similar vein to your super coverage of the recent ARC championships, any chance you could mention the fact that the Devil o the Highlands footrace finishes in FW this Saturday (a 43 mile run from Tyndrum via the WHW) and that the West Highland Way Race starts in Milngavie at 0100hrs on 23 June and finishes in FW before 1200 on 24 June - it is a footrace along all 95 miles of the WHW absolutely nothing to do with mountaineering, but another string in the bow that is the adventure capital....dry, reasonably cool and midge free weather would be nice if you could sort it!!

Just Giving

Alan,
We managed to belt out the first 30 miles to Kinlochleven in 6 hrs, then the heat caught up with us and we ground to a slow plod along to Lundavra and finished in 11 hrs.
All for a good cause though.
The full race is in 2 weeks, fingers crossed i anticipate us being in FW between 4 and 8am on 24th June.
Thanks again for the blog entry.
Tomo Thompson
