World Championship Adventure Racing - 2007

Tuesday, May 29, 2007

If you really want to feel very tired and inferior check out The World Championship Adventure Race

This 500 km test of endurance and multi-activity is in full swing and set to finish at the end of this week. Check out the maps on the website. Basically the race started on the Island of Rum and finishes on Ben Nevis, with swims in Loch Ness, climbs in Glencoe and the farthest east is Dalwhinnie on the A9. Oh yes, they will also be abseiling down around Ardverikie Wall just to spice things up. I'll post some pictures if I get time of the race. I'm supporting Aberdeen Asset by the way.

Isle of Skye from ArisaigAfter the Prologue on Rum on 26th May, the teams paddled across to the mainland on a very special day, with views to die for on 27th May! The wind was pretty fresh and some boats had problems with their steering. The Mallaig Lifeboat was in attendance just in case.

Aberdeen Asset after paddling from Rum
Ben Nevis on 28th May, still wintry
Nick Gracie at Loch Morar, glad to be off the sea!
Fresh snow yesterday on Ben Nevis
